This is the 3rd Taiwanese soap opera I have watched in a row, and I must say by far the best. Sure this one has some silly elements, but overall it is an intricate martial arts drama with great characters, great twists and awesome fight scenes. I absolutely loved this show! And it was sad, and still very good.

Tien Ya, Yi Dao and Hai Tang 

This is the story of the 3 secret Agents of Sheng Ho, the emperor’s Uncle who runs the Intelligence Agency that collects all government information whose enemy is an evil eunuch with major martial arts power, who runs the rest of the government. The 3 agents are Duan Tien Ya, Gue Hai Yi Dao and Ching Guan Hai Tang (who dresses like a man, but is actually a woman), and are his adopted Children, though Yi Dao still has a mother who has become a buddhist nun. Tien Ya is the most honorable,

Yi Dao is the killer with the sword, and Hai Tang is a healer and leader of Hu Long Village, the spy headquarters. Their is a fourth position though, one that is yet to be filled, and who is filled by the gambling fool Cheng Shi Fei

who after being thrown in prison is trained and tattooed by Sheng Ho’s number 1 enemy Gu San Tong

(who turns out to be his father, along with Su Hsin being his true mother). The Emperor’s sister Yun Lo falls for him, and eventually they are married and he actually grows up and takes some responsibility, but that will take a while.

Hai Tang has always loved Tine Ya, and Yi Dao has always loved Hai Tang. First we learn of Tien ya’s background, as he was sent to Japan to train to learn their sword techniques, and he fell for his second master’s daughter.

Eventually they ran away and got married, but were hunted down by the father, and the father’s killing attack was blocked by her, so she was killed. Later the father has returned with his younger daughter Piao Suo and wants to kill Tien Ya, but she falls for him and kills her father, and she ruins her martial arts, and goes into seclusion.

Next we learn more of Hai Tang, and both the worlds richest man falls for her as does the emperor, but at first she loves Tien Ya, but later falls for Yi Dao, though is willing to marry someone else to save him.

 

Dai Number One Gue Hai Yi Dao 

You see Yi Dao has always wanted revenge for his father’s death, and he learns his fathers evil sword style, which posses him, only to learn his mother killed his father, which is why she is a nun, but he can’t break the World Domination Style, and many people are being killed by World Domination Style, though it is someone else killing them and not him. Eventually he cuts off his right arm, and is sick for 40 days to break the curse.

Sheng Ho has always loved a woman, who was engaged to his best friend, and the man he imprisoned who died Gu San Tong. Her Name is Su Hsin

 

Sheng Ho 

After she was hurt by him he gave her a pill and put her in an ice cave. With 2 more of the pills she would recover, and he learns that the Evil Eunuch has them, and he gives him one, which helps her wake up. She learns that Cheng Shi Fei is her son, but doesn’t want to admit it because Sheng Ho doesn’t know she was actually married.

Then when Shen Ho won’t turn over Yi Diao he is imprisoned by the Eunuch, and all his agents are almost killed. In fact they think he has died, but he has tricked the Eunuch, and with his insurgency is able to kill him off. Quickly we learn Sheng Ho is not what we thought he was. In fact he wants to be emperor.

Hai Tang follows an assassin and learns it is Piao Suo who was using World Domination Style and killing all the people and blaming Yi Dao, but before she is killed she leaves a clue which Tien Ya is able to decipher and confront her. She kills herself, but not before he has killed her father who is in fact not dead (or wasn’t). Sheng Ho uses the info he has on the 10 generals to rebel, but Su Hsin reads Sheng Ho’s diary and learns that in fact Sheng Ho is the killer and blamed Gu Sang Tong who was innocent, so she destroys his evidence against the Generals and places a sign for Cheng Shi Fei.

Yi Dao, Tien Ya and Cheng Shi Fei confront Sheng Ho, and Yun Lo comes out and tells him that Cheng Shi Fei’s super martial arts is not limited, and he can fight Sheng Ho, but they can’t beat him, but Yun Lo says that Su Hsin can and throws him a box with her head in it. She killed herself to stop Sheng Ho, and Yi Dao and Tien Ya are able to kill him.

The Emperor rewards them all, making Hu Long Village into a place to train people and help people run by Tien Ya and Yi Dao and Cheng Shi Fei is given pay without work so he can spend all his time with Yun Lo. A sad, but good ending to an excellent and enjoyable show.
