I am a huge Henson and animatronic fan so I have been so excited to see this, though my girlfriend and I have been rather busy of late, but finally we managed to make it down to the Academy to see it. The exhibit is free, though parking is brutal. There is some street parking right out front with 1 hour meters, but the streets around are all permit only, so check the signs! The exhibit is free though!

The exhibit is on 2 floors, with the first floor having various original sketches and photos, which are amazing, though badly lit, so that they have serious reflections, but on the 4th floor is where the real goodies are, so make sure you go up there and bring your camera sans flash!

Upstairs is a large room filled with actual animatronics as well as cast or original maquets of the animatronics (Yoda is a cast). There is so much to see, you can see things from Beatlejuice, Alien Resurection, Robocop 2, The Dark Crystal, Labrynth, An American Werewolf in London, Alien Vs. Predator, Dr. Dolittle, Ghostbusters, Mortal Kombat, Gremlins 2, Little SHop of Horrors, Short Circuit, Men in Black 2, Mighty Joe Young, Snow Dogs, Spiderman 2, Star Wars, Starship Troopers, Jurassic Park, Chronicles of Narnia and Willow.

This is a must see for
any science fiction or movie buff in general! So much cool stuff, they even have the Henson control mechanism for the Vogons in Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy that I got to try when I went to the Henson Creature Shop with my High School Art teacher Paul Brissette! Too cool! It was so much fun checking this stuff out with my girlfriend. And I took a bunch of photos, though with no flash, so some are a little dark, but you can check them all out at my web site here .
