Firewall by Richard Loncraine (2006)
9 February 2007An unimpressive action film showing that maybe Harrison Ford is a little too old to be an action hero. Also Paul Bettany is not very good in this. This film is pretty lame. An action film trying to be hip with it’s use of computers and firewalls, and not pulling it off. No wonder this film bombed, and it makes me worry about Indiana Jones 4.
This is the story of Jack Stanfield (Harrison Ford) a super hot computer programmer who has firewalled a banking system for a company that has been bought out, and he and his former police officer partner Harry (Robert Forster) are figuring out what they are going to do. Are they going to work for the new boss Gary Mitchell (Robert Patrick) or strike out on their own with Bill Cox (Paul Bettany), but Cox is not who he seems. In fact Cox is a bank robber, and he has taken Jack’s family Beth (Virgina Madsen), their daughter Sarah (Carly Schroeder) and their severly allergic son Andy (Jimmy Bennet) and will kill them unless Jack helps them rob the bank of hundred’s of millions of dollars.
REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS…

Jack helps them rob the money, but has a plan. Cox is brutal and even kills his own men, and leaves someone to kill Jack, but takes his family along as insurance. Jack kills the man with a blender, and enlists the help of his secretary Janet Stone (Mary Lynn Rajskub). Jack manages to give all the money back, and makes a deal with Cox, but Cox does not do what he said. Luckily the family dog has a GPS on it so they follow, and Jack manages to save his family and set things right.

Pretty damn lame, even in HD. I am glad I did not pay to see this film, I would have been angry.
