I can’t believe I just watched the whole series again. I just can’t get enough of this show. I wish I had watched it when it came out, but I saw a commercial and just steered away from it. And I am one of those freaks who just didn’t know much of anything about Joss Whedon, but after this show I am a huge fan. I have watched these DVD’s at least 6 times, and still haven’t listened to the commentaries. I just like to watch the show too much. I love every character. I love the humor and the stories, and the reoccurring villains. I mean their are a couple of episodes that are not my favorite, but I do love this. It is the best sci fi series of all time. And I hope the movie does incredibly well so that they do the 2 planned sequels (Universal picked up the rights when FOX dropped it before the season ended), and then my biggest hope is that the series comes back, but that is a long shot, of course so was it being turned into movies.

Firefly is a series, so I am not going to go into the stories, but it is mostly about an interesting collection of characters on the Spaceship Firefly a cargo carrier run by a former Sergeant of the independence Malcolm Renolds, and his old assistant Zoe, who is a bad ass warrior woman, her husband the hot shot pilot Wash. Kaylee the mechanic, Jane the walking killing machine, the Preacher Book, and the 2 fugitives River and Simon Tam. This is a western future with frontier justice, and the evil Alliance who won the unification war. It seems the Alliance is the US and China since the language is English and Mandarin, and they all swear in Chinese (a great way to get around the censors. There is a great site on the Chinese used in Firefly ).

This show rocks! It is the best kind of TV and the best kind of Sci-Fi. I wish it would become an HBO show so it could be fully rated R. That would rock.

I gave the DVD to my father and he loved, and he showed it to his best friend and he loved it too. This show was not given the chance it should have been.

(2) Saw the SERENITY film twice in opening week, and then watched the entire series once again. Damn this show needs to continue, so I can spend more time with these characters, and get to know them better, though with the deaths in the movie, a new show will certainly be different, but I would still watch it each night it was on. I LOVE THIS SHOW, I LOVE THESE CHARACTERS.
