Lethal Angels by Steve Cheng Wai Man (2006)
29 August 2007Another sub par remake of Naked Killer, and one I was suckered into by the lure of the 2 leads, Jordan Chan Siu Chun and the super cute Cherrie Ying Choi Yi, but they are really nothing more than extended cameos. Now the film isn’t awful, you still get the silly female assassin fun, and one scene where they show 2 points (in the beginning and nothing more after that). I actually enjoyed it in a brain dead sort of way. I wouldn’t pay to see this, but I would watch it if I had the chance and nothing else to do. It is stupid fun, with not so great leads, but a remake of Naked Killer is a remake of Naked Killer, and the villainess Jewel Li Fei as the villainess was pure evil (and I loved her in The Patriotic Knights).
The film starts off with 2 cops at a club trying to look inconspicuous as they trail a suspect, these are Darren (Jordan Chan Siu Chun) and Jet (Andy On Chi Kit who is the male lead), and they see a quartet of hot looking women, Yoyo (TIn Sung), Emma (Cherrie Ying), Dora (Viva Wei) and Macy (Meme TIan). Jet recognizes Yoyo, but must leave to follow his suspect. After they leave the women kill a villain after getting him all hot and bothered, and Jet and Darren are brought in to investigate. Jet does a bad identification of Yoyo, because he wants to see her and find out why she disappeared 5 years before, while they were in college and were supposed to have a date, but her whole family was killed, and she has never been seen again.

Then we learn how Yoyo became a female assassin. Her father had been a taxi driver, and had see a triad killing and was going to testify, so the gang came to kill everyone, and got the whole family except Yoyo who ran, but was caught and was about to be raped, when the evil villianess Winnie (Jewel Lee Fei) saved her and took her in, and brutally made her into the ultimate killer.
She then makes Yoyo go undercover as a nurse for mob boss Bowen’s (Yuan Yuan) daughter, and they are going to steal all his money and then kill him, his wife (who is getting it on with his second in command Bowell) and his daughter who he loves more than anything. Bowen is planning to retire and pass his power to Bowell, and Yoyo doesn’t want to kill the girl, but doesn’t want to go against Winnie either. Jet and Warren come with their boss to warn Bowen about an assassin coming after him, actually 7 years ago Winnie was his pregnant wife, and he disfigured her and caused a miscarriage, and she wants revenge. Darren then meets up with Yoyo and tries to get her to turn herself in, but she wants more time. Winnie learns of it and sends Dora and Macy to kill the cops, but EMma nd Yoyo show up and save them. Yoyo and Darren make love, and Darren falls for Emma. Emma and Yoyo return to Winnie, and she tortures Emma and is gong to have her killed, but she escapes.
Yoyo then goes in to a big meeting of Bowen’s and WInnie and the other girls kill everyone there, then it turns out Bowen’s wife was one of them, but they kill her too, and they they kill Bowen, but Yoyo saves the daughter, but is badly hurt, but Darren and Jet show up with thanks to Emma and save the day, but Winnie gets away.
Emma gets 10 years, and Yoyo is in a hospital prison, and winnie attacks, but she and Darren fight her off, and he promisses to wait for her. 10 years later we also see Darren and Emma hook up.
