My girlfriend Kelly and I have been talking about going to an Indian Restaurant for a while, and one of her co-workers has taken her here a few times for lunch, so since I treated dinner last time she took me out to this restaurant. The place was almost empty, but has a great atmosphere and an extensive menu. Not only that but the service was above top notch. I have a feeling this place keeps open by their delivery, because there were not enough customers, but the food was excellent and tasty and well worth trying again, and includes Vegetarian and non-Vegetarian cuisine.

As I said the menu has a great selection, with a good wine and Indian beer selection as well. The service was top notch, with them even pouring water on a tray, and when I ordered the hottest item on the menu they brought me my own pitcher of water.

I ordered the Volcano Beef Curry, which was excellent and quite spicy. Not the hottest thing I have had, but certainly a level of spice that most people could not handle, and it was especially good with some jasmine rice and some basil and garlic naan bread. Yummy.

The place has ample parking in the back in an alley (it is on the West side of the street) and you can enter and exit through the back for your convenience.

I recomend checking this place out if you have a chance, and especially if you in the area. It has excellent food and great service, and was around $45 for my girlfriend and I to eat there without tip, and that included a glass of wine for me.

A bunch of choices for alcohol, especially since they have a full bar, that you pass by to go in the restaurant, with some different choices on special drinks. A wide variety of different appetizers were available and quite tasty, and the spicy chicken curry was out of this world, the spiciest I have had, and really tasty.

They are not computerized, and the almost charged me only 9.99 for dinner, but I was nice, and let them actually charge me what they should.

If you are in Union square you should check this place out, it is very good.

With a tiny little front entrance on Vermont next to the 7/11, this is a hipper than hip Indian Restaurant, with excellent food, though a little dark to see exactly what you are eating. Still well worth checking out, and fun to sit at the low tables against the wall.

My girlfriend (this is my ex Nan Lan) and I got one of the whole meals for 2, which was a lot of food, and quite good. And the green sauce, is quite tasty and quite spicy. As I said my only complaint is that it is a little too dark, and maybe a little too hip for my taste, but that doesn’t hurt the food, which is top notch.

Not a single Indian person in sight, but the place was pretty packed for a Wednesday night!

Not too expensive, and a lot of food for you money.

Their is valet parking on Franklin behind the 7-11 that costs $3.50.

Excellent Curries, and a decent variety of different food. Well worth checking out. I have to say I am not a fan of rice pudding though, just too sweat for me. I loved the curry though, try the house special, but the chicken vindaloo was excellent as well.
