My girlfriend (This was Nan Lan Ye) had always wanted to try this place, that is often listed as one of the best Chinese restaurants in Los Angeles. And I must say it is a place that people who haven’t had real Chinese food might actually like, but true lovers of Chinese food will find this much like any Chinese take out place across America, except maybe without the MSG.

Yes the place looks nice, and everyone is dressed nice, and the food isn’t too expensive, but not good Chinese food. The food was unimpressive, not spicy at all, and reminded me of something that should have been on a pupu platter, which I am pretty sure no Chinese has ever heard of (it is an assortment of Oriental Appetizers, though not real Chinese food at all, and usually heated with a little sterno heater).

If you like real Chinese food stay away, if you like what white people think is Chinese food, this may be fine cuisine.
